Welcome to our new Board member, Prakash David Falbaum, whose professional experience as a Research Chemist includes project management, a job that employs a range of skills. He has been offering seva since discovering Svaroopa® yoga in June 2012, especially supporting our technology upgrades. His multiple skills in computers, management and yoga give him a broad base from which to support our broad spectrum of modernizations. Prakash has experienced deep healing and transformation through the power of the Svaroopa® Sciences, reporting,
My whole affect, approach, and the way I carry myself have changed — everything changed in three weeks. Seva is the way to give back, which I am compelled to do.
We’re beginning to plan for Polly DiBella’s retirement from training Teachers, effective in early 2014. Polly is a valued member of our Teacher Training team, leading Foundations and Foundations Review courses as well as team-teaching YTT Level 1, in our conferences and assisting in many courses. Her Svaroopa® yoga studio is the closest one to our Exton classroom, so she’s also hosted innumerable Newcomer Classes and coached many teachers-in-training. Many of you have been polished by her loving hands and insightful feedback. Polly speaks, as always, from her heart:
After 10 years as a Teacher Trainer, it is time for me to move on. I deeply value the support and mentoring I’ve received. I value the high educational standard of the training program and the opportunity to have been a part of it. I value also the community of trainers and teachers whom I’ve worked with over the years. I will miss the connection to the extended community that being a trainer provides, so it has not been an easy decision. Life changes and responding to those changes has been the impetus behind my decision. Best wishes to everybody and I will see you at the conference!
Devi Elizabeth McKenty & Julia Djaic are graduating to a new level, becoming Teacher Trainers for our Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) courses.
Already qualified as a Foundations teacher, Devi is embarking on an intensive internship program, featuring personal coaching with our premiere Trainers, Vidyadevi, Karobi and Swami Nirmalananda. Having assisted in many of our Exton programs, Devi is well known to many yogis and appreciated for her compassion and understanding. She shares her delight at this new step in her teaching:
While in India in February, I received beautiful teachings on how to serve, simply by watching the people of India. I recognized that I wanted to learn how to bring service to all that I do. So it is my pleasure to be able to offer myself in this way as a Teacher Trainer. I have wanted to do this for years now, and finally I feel a shift, an alignment within, a natural flow into this next step. Learning to be a Teacher Trainer is a collaboration between MYF/SVA, the community of yogis and myself. I am very grateful to be able to share this experience with all of you.
Julia Djaic has been assisting Janaki Janet Murray in teaching Australian Foundations courses, and has already begun her training as a Trainer in our recent YTT Level 1 in Brisbane. She will be coming to the USA to further her training as well as bringing her new skills to the expanding community of Svaroopis, now beginning to spread through other regions of this huge continent. We are excited about expanding our faculty in Australia, and grateful for the hard work of Svaroopis who have been trailblazing for years, beginning with Margaret Howard-Smith and continued by Janaki Janet Murray and the Australian Svaroopa® Yoga Association.
